How the group fits together

The group sits on two spines. One is the Saurashtra coast road, with Somnath at Veraval and Nageshwar near Dwarka. The other is the Maharashtra belt: Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district, Grishneshwar at Verul next to the Ellora caves, and Bhimashankar on the ghat road from Pune. The one long leg inside the group is the cross-country link between Gujarat and Maharashtra, by rail between Dwarka and Nashik Road or by a flight between Jamnagar and Mumbai.

These five are the easiest group to complete in a short trip because the travelling is short between the temples that matter. Somnath and Nageshwar sit on one coast road. The three Maharashtra temples sit along the Western Ghats and the Deccan plateau, joined by roads of half a day to a full day. The Maharashtra three work as a trip with no flight, and the two Gujarat temples join them across the one long leg.

The legs inside the group

Each leg works in either direction. Bands are planning buckets: half day means most of a morning or afternoon, full day means the day is gone, overnight means a sleeper or a flight plus transfers.

The group on the map

Only this group's temples are plotted, with each temple's stotram list number on its pin. Open any pin for that temple's guide.

Each pin carries the temple's number in the stotram list, not a visiting order. Tap a pin for links.
